Introductory Workshops
Centering Prayer Introductory Workshops

Explore a way of praying that allows you to be at home with God, being attentive to and experiencing the Divine presence and
action within.  Centering Prayer is a form of silent prayer based on Matthew 6:6 and the writings of Saints John Cassian, John of
the Cross and Teresa de Avila.  In this workshop, learn the method and principles of Centering Prayer and have the opportunity to
practice this ancient prayer method in a quiet, reflective atmosphere. The workshop will be presented by trained presenters
representing Contemplative Outreach, Ltd., a network of faith communities, Catholic in origin, ecumenical in scope, committed to
renewing the contemplative dimension of the Gospel in everyday life.
Are you interested in helping to host an Introductory Workshop to teach

“Be still and know that I am God”

Centering Prayer is a prayer of silence where one consents to the love God has for us. It enables us to take at least a
few moments out of our day just to be in God’s loving embrace, free from the noise and tensions of the world around
us.

In this workshop you are invited to explore this way of prayer that takes us step by step on a journey that leads inward
to the place where we can rest in God and allow Him to work through us. It is to be open to the Infinite and the infinite
possibilities.

Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer, but it enhances other kinds of prayer.
